ART Everyday

Art is all around us.
For artists it truly is.
But the inspiration for ART is all around everyone.
While driving my mind wanders to how art affects me and those in my life.
I blog about those things because they matter.

When you ignore the true beauty of art around you, you lose something.
I cannot ignore it.
It totally consumes me.
My sleep.
My awake.
My rest.
My work.

Art is so important to me that I get lost in it.
As my canvases are prepped for a show, I feel pride and loss.
I honestly hate to sell them.
I want to have them around me always.
It is not realistic.
They would take over every inch of my life.
But they are truly the reason for my existence.

Notice art.
Notice leaves, and flowers and how they relate to each other.
Notice a landscape and what gives it interest or beauty.
Notice man made things too.
Notice architecture and the materials that make it beautiful.
Notice the sheen of some materials
and the dullness or texture of others.
As a designer and a painter I am keenly aware of how materials relate to each other.
I watch the light and how it affects these materials.
I watch the light and how it affects color in anything.
How flowers are more vibrant in softer morning or evening sun.
How the intense light of day washes out that color as it heats up the world around them.

Art is truly all around us.
Notice it.
Revel in it.
Paint it or draw it or sculpt it.
Make it part of your world by interpreting it with your medium.
Make it part of your life.
