A Place to Paint

May sound easy.
Air
Light
Music
Energy
They all join together for a PLACE.

I can paint anywhere.
As long as the above is met.
I have painted outside in so
many different venues.
In warehouse buildings
with broken window panes.
In an old theater
with all the seats removed.
In an attic
with an A/C unit
blasting cold air at my back.
But never in a basement.
The whole no light
thing
and being underground
does not appeal to
my painting senses.

My studio now is just
about perfect.
The air is sweet
and crisp.
The light is adjustable
and is always perfect.
The energy is created
by me.
The painter of the studio.
It is mine and my responsibility.
I let no bad vibes in.

I let no bad vibes
in anywhere in my life.
A Place to Paint is all I ask.
And all that I relish in.
Because painting is the thing that drives my breath
and my soul.
