Rainy fall mornings are the BEST in the South.
You wake up to rain on the roof.
Walk out to rain spattering you on the way to your car.
The humidity is falling all around you.
The wetness seems thick, not just droplets
but thick enough to surround you this morning.
Fall is a passing phase here.
The winter is cooler and more stable.
Fall is more boisterous.
Rain
wind
humidity ebbs and flows.
And the heat seems to seep into the ground
and the pavement as if it is REALLY leaving!!
And then one day you notice that you can breath again.
And the humidity leaves.
And it is cooler and more livable.
Breathable.
Winter is what you wait for in the South.
It is the season where you can actually live
and move outside.
Exist in the open without A/C
and enjoy the air again.
