The End of Lemonade Stands in The South

Summer
and simple expressions.
Neighborhood children
and their lemonade stands.

I always miss it when they are back in
school
and too busy to think about making
lemonade.
Long summer days
after they are exhausted by swimming at the beach
in the morning.
Afternoons
turn into
Mom's lemonade
and their folding table
entrepreneurship.

I always support lemonade stands.
Always have.
Having been a child entrepreneur
myself
I marvel at the child
that does it on his own.

I have bought so many paper cups
of lemonade
and wilted cookies
from folding table
pop ups.

I always talk to them
about their
goals for the day.
Whether they will do this again.
What Mom did to help.

It fascinates me.
And it tells me alot about the child.

The younger siblings that
shuttle supplies back from Mom.
The ones who demand a cut.

Gotta love young entrepreneurs!
