ART is
always commercial.
If it is not
you do not survive.
Many fine ARTIST friends
shy away from talking
about their successes.
They respond emotionally to
their losses.
But the passion that is evoked
from failures
is extreme.
ARTISTS are
a gifted and fiery lot.
We tend to only focus on
the reviews that not good
and the words that are
spoken harshly
about our work.
We all have bad reviews.
Not everyone will get you
and to expect them to
appreciate your work
is a total dream.
We all aspire to that acceptance
but in reality
if it were that easy
there would have
been no ARTIST
suicides
or depression.
ART is totally
subjective.
Just because someone
understands us
and is buying your
work
does not mean that
you become their commercial
venture.
Sometimes we need to
block out the chatter
and the self soothing
words spoken
and go back to the reason
we paint
anyway.
We paint because
it is like breathing to us.
We paint because it is our
essence and our soul.
Never buy into the fact that you
must sell your ART
to survive.
If you do
you will become one of those
mechanical
machines
with no soul
and NO ARTIST
can handle that.
At least not for very long.
Paint for you.
Plain and simple.
