Using Red
I have alot of red in my paintings.
Red , bright orange, yellow and deeper yellows permeate my canvases.
I have been told it is HOT and firey to have that much saturated warm tones in my work.
It honestly does not feel that hot to me.
It feels like life.
Life is full of heat.
Full of moments of extreme passion.
Extreme intensity that lets up, we rest, and do it again.
Without that heat many of us would be catatonic tv watchers, or slaves to our email.
We need the HEAT that warm colors give.
I honestly believe that is why many people are drawn to Abstract Art.
Not my art in particular, but Abstract Art in general.
Abstracts can use pure color and not be shy about it.
We are not representing nature or a landscape or a portrait.
We are representing feelings and life experiences that are in our minds or souls.
We do not represent a tree or a sea scene.
We represent the passion of feelings that others may bury or at least hide from view.
Abstract are base.
They are life forms that are not easily explained.
They are expressions that people do not explain with a word, or a phrase.
I see so many well done representative pieces that just sit there.
Yes they represent well. They tell a story of what someone has seen.
But I always feel that you look at an landscape once.
You look at an Abstract and see it differently every time.
When I use RED / ORANGE / YELLOW in my paintings,
I am painting my soul.
My soul does not back down.
My soul expresses.
My soul is alive and full of passion for that moment captured on the canvas.
My soul is shared with my followers, my clients, and the people that enjoy my work.
RED.
A good color to describe it.
