I can feel it coming.
The mornings are just a few degrees cooler.
It has been the hottest summer on record
and it is finally giving way just a bit.
I have wilted.
I have melted.
I have tried to be outside and enjoy it
but instead dove to the Air Conditioning
and waited it out.
Paintbrushes clutched in hand.
Wanting to paint outside.
Wanting to just be outside.
But the heat and humidity drive me indoors
and I miss it.
The cooler mornings are awakening me.
I feel compelled to be outside now.
The reptiles are waking up too.
I keep seeing tree frogs
snakes
and lizards out in the cooler air.
Even too hot for them this summer.
they are taking in the cooler air and the sun
A great combination for them.
I revel in it.
I want to just let it soak into this pale midwest skin.
I want to get a bit brown now.
but have so much work to do
so much to catch up on in the cooler temps
that it still does not allow me to be out in it.
Someday.
Maybe in winter.
Now that sounds PERFECT!!
