The light that happens in art
from no apparent source
is what I am talking about.
We all do it at any given time.
Sometimes on purpose
and sometimes as a happy accident.
But the light that happens inside
a piece
is the best light.
I work in sunlight
with auxiliary light
added
to give me total control over how a piece
comes together.
I believe in lots of light.
And then as the sun sets
my work changes.
The colors change
the images change
and the shadows play across it
and wander through it.
Light is an important part
of any art
but color brings the most to it.
I love the combinations of color
and gradations.
I love to play and dance on the canvas
with color
simulating light.
Light is where we are all going
on any given day.
I just tend to capture it
within my work
as a goal
and just go from there.
