Can a Color Palette Define You?

I have certainly been accused of this.
My palette seems to be extremely
influenced 75% of
the time by Bauhaus work.
I tend to love
Hans Hoffman
and the work of the emerging artists
of the 1930s.
When the Nazis ended
the innovation of
many people of that
period
it all just kind
of stopped.

I have read just about
everything there is to read about
Bauhaus
and lectured about it to
many different ages.
I have visited most of the European
museums that tend to focus on
the work of
that time frame
and have seen every
exhibition that ever tours.
I love the work
of the furniture designers
and their American influence
after fleeing
the Nazis.
They certainly
changed Chicago
and Bloomfield Hills MI
with their art and their culture.

I have benefited from it my whole
professional life.
Being a Knoll dealer for many years
I had access to the complete Knoll
line
and all of its history.
I had an extensive collection
that seemed to dissipate during
the divorce.
But I enjoyed it
nonetheless
and wished that
I could have kept it
and enjoyed it for generations.

So the Knoll red /orange
is part of my makeup.
And the rest of the
Bauhaus colors
have always been a part of
who I am.
If I had to state a
color palette preference
it would probably be
primary colors.
They are very powerful to paint with.
The contrasts are strong.
Like my life.
