Family and The ARTS

I think I trained
my children since they were tiny
about the ARTS.
How to appreciate the ARTS.
How to visit museums
everywhere in the
world.
How to make it a
priority
everywhere we went
every stop of the way.
Day trips to gallery events.
Weekend trips to special
museum offerings
of famous artists.
Week long trips
to Florence
Rome
Paris
New Mexico
Washington DC and the National Galleries.

St. Petersburg and
crying over the art
as it disappeared
before our eyes.
Dirty draperies
open to pollution
and dirty floors
and bathrooms
at the Hermitage.
The Amber Room
at the Summer Palace
and the mystery of
ART surviving
trauma
and theft.

Also the "onion top"
architecture there.
The history of such amazing places.
And the wonder of civilizations
before us in Egypt
(Luxor / Cairo / all along the NILE)
and why everything matters.

And they learned it
and it is now an important part
of their lives.
Everywhere they go.
Such wonder!!
