I always look for a distinction
from one day to the next.
I paint every day.
It is who I am.
And what I do.
So a weekend just gives me
a difference in perspective as
to whom is around me
and the schedule of the studio.
Some days are shipping days.
Some days are construction days
for frames and supports.
Some days are pure painting days.
Those are my favorites.
I want to paint.
I want to think about painting.
I want to gather materials to paint more.
Gathering paints with different
thicknesses and weights.
It is a challenge
and really a fun part of the process.
Thinking of which colors
I need in which weights.
Thinking of what my series work is.
Thinking of what my commissioned work is.
And planning the large canvases.
They take planning.
They take structure
and they are a very important part of what I do.
Sunday is a total painting day
and that makes me very happy.
